a beginning

Do not be impatient with your seemingly slow progress. Do not try to run faster than you presently can. If you are studying, reflecting, and trying, you are making progress whether you are aware of it or not. A traveler walking the road in the darkness of night is still going forward. Someday, some way, everything will break open, like the natural unfolding of a rosebud. :: Vernon Howard
I have had this quote posted above my desk, and running through my head, for quite some time.
This site has been a long time in the making.
For years, I have been immersed in the growing online world, reading blogs, following people's dreams as they developed into reality, and watching the online world expand. I knew that one day I would join this community, but I am not one who does things impulsively. I wait, I explore and research, I plan carefully, and then I act.
I also like to tackle several projects at once, and like (need?) to have several lines of creative expression open at once. Some of my best thinking on one project is often done while working hard on another. I scribble notes to myself on pieces of paper, and then carefully log those thoughts into a system that has developed slowly over the years.
This site, the projects that it houses, and the copy editing business that I am starting, are what have currently developed from my brainstorming and natural curiosity. I want to continue expanding from here, and hope to never stop growing and changing.
I am sensitive to the danger of overdoing, overreaching, overextending. I think that the projects that I do, and the things that interest me, all develop from the same place inside of me: an inherent aesthetic, feeling, interest, that drives me. I think that there is a thread running through all that I do, one that I can't name just yet, but that exists nonetheless. All of the projects that I take on continue to refine that thread, and I am excited to see where I am as I continue to develop as a creative person.
I can't say where this space will ultimately go, but for now, it will house some projects that I may be working on, some daily (or weekly or monthly as the case may be) thoughts that I have, and things that I see in the world around me.
